Diversity
Equity
Inclusion
Belonging
Sounds familiar, isn't it?
Diversity means being invited to the celebration, while inclusion means being encouraged to participate actively. Inclusion allows everyone to express themselves in the workplace by ensuring they feel safe, supported, embraced, appreciated, and respected. Equity offers opportunities and resources. Belonging is the effect of inclusion.
Every organization and company has its own characteristics, but for any DEIB training strategy you need:
Define a clear objective.
Establish your starting point.
Evaluate your resources and budget.
Metrics:
Determine key indicators.
Develop both subjective and objective measurement tools.
Set benchmarks.
Leadership training:
Ensure that executive leaders are included in the training and are at the forefront of these efforts.
Participatory learning. Learn everyday and engage through practical experience with team interactions.
There are also three strategic trainings for your company's success:
Advocacy: create safe environments at work.
Awareness: Sensitivity training and basic awareness education.
Action: techniques for how to eliminate bias, effective communication and inclusion.
